The Alegor Bălți Therapy and Intervention Center provides sessions based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA therapy). ABA is an evidence-based approach that helps children with autism and other developmental needs acquire communication, social, daily living, and academic skills. Starting therapy at an early age can provide timely support for a child’s development and help them acquire essential skills.

ABA therapy at Alegor Bălți is based on consistency, regular practice, and an individualized approach.

Initial Assessment
The specialist gets to know the child, observes their behavior, assesses their existing skills, and identifies their strengths and the areas that require further development.

Individualized Learning Program
The program is developed according to the child’s age, developmental profile, current needs, and the parents’ priorities. ABLLS-R or VB-MAPP may be used to assess the child’s skills.

The program may focus on developing:

• understanding spoken language and following instructions;
• communication skills and the ability to make requests;
• play and social interaction skills;
• independence and everyday living skills;
• attention, imitation, and learning skills;
• skills required to prepare for kindergarten or school.

As the child acquires new skills, the program is reviewed and adjusted accordingly.

Regular Sessions
Sessions are held according to an established schedule from Monday to Friday. Regular practice helps children gradually acquire and strengthen new skills and apply them in everyday life.

Parental Involvement
Parents are welcome to attend sessions, provided that their presence does not interfere with the child’s ability to concentrate and complete the activities. Parents may also receive recommendations on how to reinforce the child’s skills at home.

Session Format
The main program lasts 2 hours:

• 1 hour — an individual session with a specialist;
• 1 hour — a group session with other children.

Group Sessions
The group program focuses on socialization, preparation for kindergarten and school, and the development of skills that children need to interact with other people.

During group sessions, children learn to:

• communicate and interact with other children;
• participate in shared games and activities;
• make requests and respond when others speak to them;
• follow common rules and group instructions;
• wait for their turn and share materials;
• remain seated and complete activities for a certain period of time;
• listen to the specialist and complete the activities they have started;
• work both independently and together with other children;
• become more comfortable with the presence of other children and changes in familiar activities;
• clean up after themselves and keep their workspace organized;
• become more independent in everyday situations.

As part of school preparation, children develop attention, the ability to remain engaged in an activity, work from an example, complete tasks in sequence, and participate in activities alongside other children. The group program is adapted to each child’s age and current skill level.

Additional Services
The Alegor Bălți branch also provides individual speech therapy sessions.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy sessions focus on the development of language and communication. Depending on the child’s needs, the specialist may work on:

• understanding spoken language;
• initiating and developing speech;
• expanding vocabulary;
• building sentences and developing coherent speech;
• producing sounds correctly;
• developing the muscles and movements involved in speech;
• answering questions and participating in conversations.

The center accepts children aged 2 to 14+ years. Sessions are available in Romanian and Russian.
