The Alegor Therapy and Intervention Center provides individual sessions for children based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA therapy). ABA is a scientifically supported approach widely used to teach children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental needs.
The center works with children with autism, global developmental delay, speech or language delay, psychomotor developmental delay, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, as well as children experiencing difficulties with communication, behavior, learning, self-care, or the development of motor and social skills.
The Alegor Asachi branch provides individual sessions only. Sessions last 50 or 80 minutes and are held daily from Monday to Friday in Romanian or Russian.
Each child receives an individualized program based not only on their diagnosis, but also on their age, existing skills, developmental profile, and current needs. Our specialists regularly assess the child’s progress and adjust the program when necessary, taking into account the pace at which the child acquires new skills.
The center provides the following services:
ABA Therapy
An individualized ABA therapy program may focus on developing:
• understanding spoken language and following instructions;
• communication skills and the ability to make requests;
• spoken language or alternative forms of communication;
• attention, imitation, and learning skills;
• play and social skills;
• independence and everyday living skills;
• skills required to prepare for kindergarten or school.
If a child displays challenging behavior, our specialists analyze its causes and teach the child more appropriate ways to express their needs, accept being told “no,” wait, and cope with changes in their usual routine.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy sessions focus on the development of language and communication. Depending on the child’s individual needs, the speech therapist may work on:
• understanding language;
• initiating and developing speech;
• expanding vocabulary;
• building sentences and developing coherent speech;
• producing sounds correctly;
• developing the muscles and movements involved in speech;
• answering questions and participating in conversations.
Sensory Integration
Sensory integration sessions help children perceive and process information received through sight, hearing, touch, movement, and body position more effectively.
The sessions may focus on:
• reducing or accommodating increased sensitivity to sounds, touch, and other stimuli;
• improving attention and the ability to participate in an activity for longer periods;
• developing self-regulation;
• improving coordination and motor planning;
• helping the child adapt to everyday situations.
The program is designed according to each child’s individual sensory profile.
Kinesiotherapy
Kinesiotherapy involves specially selected physical exercises. These exercises help develop:
• gross motor skills;
• balance and coordination;
• strength, flexibility, and endurance;
• healthy posture;
• spatial awareness;
• the ability to control body movements.
The skills acquired are useful not only during therapy sessions but also in everyday life, including dressing, washing, eating, walking, playing, and performing other activities independently.
The center accepts children between the ages of 2 and 14+. Parents are welcome to attend the sessions, provided that their presence does not interfere with the child’s ability to concentrate and complete the activities.
